Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 Return has been delayed until 2024, as McLaren dropped him for the 2022 season. However, he has signed on as a third driver for Red Bull, assisting with testing, simulations, and commercial activities. Ricciardo’s return to racing in 2024 remains to be determined, as Red Bull has already secured two talented drivers in, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Ricciardo’s future in Formula One will depend on various factors, including his performance as a test driver and the opportunities that arise with the Red Bull team.

How His Career Started

Daniel Ricciardo began his career as a Red Bull junior driver and was allowed to debut with the HRT team in the second half of 2011. Red Bull placed him in their sister team, Toro Rosso, for the 2012-13 seasons.

Ricciardo’s outstanding performances in Toro Rosso paved the way for him to graduate to the Red Bull main team in 2014, following the retirement of Mark Webber. In his first season with Red Bull, Ricciardo outclassed his four-time champion teammate, Sebastian Vettel, winning three races to Vettel’s none.

Despite spending five seasons with Red Bull, Ricciardo left the team at the end of 2018 with concerns that the group was becoming too focused on his younger teammate, Max Verstappen. He then joined Renault for the 2019 season on a two-year contract worth over $50m before deciding to leave the team for McLaren in 2021, before the delayed start of the 2020 season.

Poor Performances: The Reason Behind Why Mclaren Dropped Him?

Mclaren’s previous team dropped the Australian driver after poor performances in the 2022 Grand Prix. The chances of Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 Return in 2024 are slim as he has no versions behind him. The Australian F1 driver won the Italian Grand Prix in 2021 for Mclaren but struggled most of the season. He could not finish on the podium even once in 2022, which has endangered Riccardo’s F1 career.

Return To Red Bull

Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 Return is still to be decided, but Red Bull has signed the Australian driver to assist Red Bull with the testing and simulation works, including other commercial activities.

Riccardo stated that he was truly excited to be back with the team he started his F1 career with. However, Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 Return to the cockpit is still to be decided.

According to Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, Daniel Ricciardo’s role as the third driver will allow the team to expand their skill set. He will also share his experience with both Red Bull drivers, which can be a valuable asset for the team.

Can Daniel Ricciardo’s Race For Red Bull?

This is a complex question, but there is a very slim chance of this turning into reality as Red Bull already has two competitive racers who have finished on the podium 100% till now this season. If anything happens or an unlikely event takes place, it’s another case to rule one of the racers out.

Red Bull management has also shown no interest in racing Daniel Ricciardo ahead of any of their racers, making the chances of Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 Return slimmer.

However, Fans are eager to see Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 Return and race in 2024. He himself hasn’t lost hope, and the Australian hopes to return on the track next year.

We are all eager to see The Australian race again next year. But will he get the chance? The clock is ticking, and the competition is fierce.
