Verstappen’s Brilliance:

Max Verstappen was on the spot for perfection this season and capped off the year with an emphatic 15th win in Abu Dhabi. The Red bull driver had clinched the victory in the Japanese Grand Prix more than a month ago, but instead of wearing out, he shined in the last race of the year. Making sure that he signs off this year at high.

Not only this, Red Bull’s premium driver made some records too while enjoying racing on the track. The Dutchman sets new records for most race wins and points in a single Formula 1 season. With 454 points and 15 wins, he joins the greats of the sport like Mika Häkkinen and Fernando Alonso. But Max’s performance is arguably the greatest one yet, even by the world champions.

Ferrari is a constant threat:

When we look at the patterns of performance between Ferrari and Red Bull, which by the way have been successful competitors over time. But there was a shift in momentum from Ferrari to Red Bull during the French Grand Prix. Ferrari had done well and had started strong.

During the French Formula 1 race, both teams introduced new floors to their cars. In this crucial change, Red Bull was very much concerned about maintaining the balance of the car. They did so by moving the centre of the Aerodynamic pressure of the underfloor rearwards. This was done to retain the same balance despite the smaller rear wing.

Now if we break down the performance of Ferrari as compared to Red Bull, Ferrari was always quicker than the latter but finished behind them due to technical errors and failings of strategy.

What happened to Mercedes?

Mercedes was not up to the mark this year. There were rumours of unrest in the crew about the design of the car, as the main driver, Lewis Hamilton, wasn’t happy with the changes in his car. Technical errors, lacking strategy, and team bonding was the main cause of these dismal outings this year.

Haas’s 2022 season run:

Haas was one of those crews which were constantly facing problems throughout the year. From facing financial crises in 2020, to not spending a single dime in 2021, Haas came a long way to deal with its mess. But 2022 gave less comfort. But more or less, Haas was forced to make technical regulations this year as these requirements were important to their future in this season. They missed their pre-season test at Bahrain Grand Prix, due to the late arrival of their freight. Then, the unit had to make a difficult decision about drivers, and at last, Mick Schumacher was replaced by Nico Hulkenberg.
