On June 4, 2019, China, which has made 13 appearances in the finals, confirmed its position as the original hosts and the runners-up of the second round of Group A. Their best results were in 1984 and 2004. Japan, which won the championship title in 1992, 2000, 2004, and 2011, will compete in the tournament for the tenth time after winning Group F in the second round on May 28, 2021. Through the rigorous qualification process, the following countries earned their spots: Syria, Qatar, South Korea, Australia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Oman, Vietnam, Lebanon, Palestine, Uzbekistan, Thailand, India, Hong Kong, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, Malaysia, Jordan, and Indonesia.
