Indian-Sports-Rise

Indian Sports history would have barely seen much success. But the last few months have been emphatic for them. Their athletes in different sporting events have shown their true skill and hard work. Defeating the best of the best, they proved that it won’t be so easy to compete against them in the future

Let’s discuss some of their historical outings this year in world sports.

Thomas Cup Win: Indian Badminton Stars Script History:

The highlight for this year would be the famous Thomas Cup victory. India shocked the event’s royalty, Indonesia with a 3-0 win. Dismantling the 14-time champion was a tough task indeed. But the Indian Team’s grit and determination made them achieve this feat. They became only the sixth nation to win the coveted trophy.

This win produced new heroes for their sports history, which was quite difficult in a cricket-mad country. This memorable victory will tend to do for badminton, what the 1983 cricket world cup win did for Indian cricket.

Nikhat Zareen scripts history: Wins Gold at Women’s World Boxing Championship

Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen lived up to the expectations of fans and won a coveted Gold in the 52kg division. A 5-0 facile victory against Thailand’s Jitpong Jutamas saw the boxer add another Gold to the cabinet. Indian women have had a tough run-in World sports but this victory positively impacted the women’s wings of Indian Sports. This is the country’s first gold medal at the championship since Olympic boxer MC Mary Kom won in the year 2018. Kom has been a six-time champion at the tournament.

Neeraj Chopra: A Real Hero for Indian Sports
