IPL is in full flow, it has been a spectacular season for some while some failed to deliver. The number 1 T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav is one of those who failed to deliver this season and is a cause of concern for his team, Mumbai Indians. Suryakumar Yadav’s form not only in IPL but in recent times, dropped lately and he even registered back-to-back ducks in the ODI series against New Zealand with the ODI world cup coming up, will he be able to get back into form?

His Journey To Number 1 T20I Batter 

Suryakumar Yadav shone in the T20 World Cup 2022 held in Australia and the series against England where he made his T20I debut. It’s truly remarkable that Suryakumar Yadav, known by the moniker ‘SKY’, only made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 2021 during a T20I match against England in Ahmedabad. Despite his relatively short international career, he has already played 42 T20Is and amassed an impressive 1408 runs at an average of 44. Additionally, his strike rate of 180.97 is nothing short of phenomenal. It shows that SKY is a gifted and valuable player for the Indian cricket team. 

Not only has Suryakumar Yadav had an impressive start to his international career, but he was also recognized for his outstanding performance in the ICC 2022 T20 World Cup. He was named in the “Most Valuable Team” for the tournament and finished as the third-highest run-scorer overall, with a total of 239 runs.

A Poor Start To ODI Career

Suryakumar Yadav’s form in ODI has always been criticized as he failed to deliver every time. In the span of 21 innings, Suryakumar Yadav’s form is a concern as he has been only able to score 433 runs at an average of 24. His highest score is just 64 with two fifties and three ducks in his career. 

Failing To Deliver In the IPL 

Suryakumar Yadav’s form didn’t even restore in the IPL and now is becoming a concern for Mumbai Indians he would need to perform if the MI is going to win the IPL this year. In the two games he played this season, he was only able to score 15 and 1 which even raised questions about his form on social media. With the MI captain, Rohit Sharma also failing to deliver this season MI has some serious batting issues. They failed to score runs and are struggling at the second-last position of the table.

Will He Bounce Back? 

Despite his recent struggles in form, Suryakumar Yadav has the talent and determination to make a strong comeback. At 30 years old, he still has plenty of time to regain his form and continue to contribute to the Mumbai Indians and the Indian cricket team. With his skills and experience, it’s only a matter of time before he bounces back and proves his worth once again.
